what an end to what a year. in some ways they are perfect for each other. 2006 isnt one of my better years. in fact it has been one of the worst ones i had to endure.
alright, yeah i made new friends, had some fun times with the girls. but those were occasional episodes. but the year has been otherwise dismal and downright depressing. in fact, i am still extremely angry. oh yeah. time to realise that not everyone takes things as seriously and as important as i do. and not everyone makes that effort.
i decided to mail the present. i am fed up. period. disproportionate.

it was strange. strangely surreal. the way he fed me. the way he kept dishing food into my bowl. it was strange. strangely surreal. that he came out to meet me for dinner. that he actually came and picked me up from the office.
strangely surreal. this time, he remembered that i couldnt take milk and he took extra care in ordering the food.
funny.
it is all in the hands of the FATES. even the fates of the olympians lies in their hands. it doesnt matter what we do, because it is all in the hands of the FATES. miche is feeling surreal today. should i or should i not post his present to him?

i never expected myself to say this but the best christmas present i got this year was my grades. okay fine, not that they are fabulous or anything but yeah. i never really put in effort into my school work since like day one in university, because i really didnt want to study here. and i always allowed and willed myself to get sidetracked by many things along the way, many other things and people are more interesting than studies for me. but i am glad to have the results i have this semester for a multitude of reasons.
for this really, i have to thank God.

i was pleasantly surprised to get a call from AL on saturday afternoon. i was just casually saying on friday night during dinner with guy, nat, mund, mart and din din, "oh well, i dont know when he is coming back, but he will call when he gets back i supposed."
i was pleasantly surprised when he did. but not elated like i used to be. was supposed to meet him for dinner after the christmas gathering at nat's grandma's place, but he fell asleep and i didnt meet him in the end. i used to get really upset with him for reneging on me all the time, but nope, not tonight. i wasnt even in the least upset.
so i guess, i have move on for real this time. but he is and will always be one of my closest and bestest friends in life.
arent you glad and happy for me, rens? he is out of the system for good this time. i wish it wont take as long with DS (his sms send me into tears on the way home in the cab the other night, i hate the amount of control he has over me.)

so goes another Christmas. an uneventful one. i dont really know how to describe my feelings towards Christmas and this time of the year. it is a love-hate relationship at best i can make it sound. but truly, just like how the Sun and sunny days makes me feel depressed, the festive and Christams season makes me feel the same as well. for some strange reason, since i was (like what 14?) i could not be truly immersed into this whole Christmas-y thingy. Some years are better than others, just like how i am better on some days and downright in the pits of Tartarus on others. so yes, here goes another Christmas.
the irony of life never fails to amuse me. certain decisions are made because they have to be made and certain choices are inevitable. the very day that one left was the very day the other came back. and it hit me the other day in the showers, that i last saw both of them on the same day. such is the irony of life. can i tell you something, no amount of sorry you tell me is going to make things better. because with every sorry you say, you dont make the effort to change things, but continue in the way you have always been. and you only make matters worse, because your "sorries" become worthless and meaningless. just like how, "you matter to me" no longer matters after a while. because, words are free and your actions speak otherwise. if i am unworthy of your friendship, tell me so. miche wishes every one a Merry Christmas and hopes that you will have a Blessed 2007!

my family scored a new high today.
firstly, my family did not realise that i wasnt home last night.
secondly, when my mother left the house to buy breakfast for the family this morning, she asked my two brothers if i was home, they said yeah she is. somehow, my mother didnt really trust them (i dont blame her really), she apparently went to my room to check if i was at home. she somehow managed to "see" me sleeping on my bed. (i am quite sure i wasnt in my bed since 12 noon yesterday)
thirdly, with the image of me sleeping in my bed (when i am obviously not at home) she proceeds to the market to get breakfast for the entire family. only to come home at around 1030, to discover that nope, miche wasnt at home.
fourthly, she then calls me and this was how the phone conversation went:
mom: eh girl ah, did you come home last night?
miche: er, no. i wasnt home.
mom: then why did your brothers tell me you came home?
miche: er, i dont know. i really didnt go home last night.
mom: but i thought i saw you sleeping on your bed. that is why i bought you breakfast!
what am i going to do with it now?
miche: i dont know, mom are you sure it wasnt my teddy bear that you saw on the bed and not me. anyway, ask the two to eat the breakfast since they told you that i was home when i am obviously not home.
mom: by the way i am not cooking tonight.
miche: okay, by the way, i am not going home TONIGHT either. so dont buy breakfast for me on thursday.
dont you just love my family. i find it really hilarious. my mother used to ask me how come she doesnt know that i didnt go home. seriously i dont know. cause the last time i went missing for 4 nights, she asked me how come i was home at 1600hrs on a thursday, when i just came home after 96 hours of not being home.
when i went on a roadtrip to malaysia last year, my parents forgot when i was departing and forgot when i was returning home. my younger bro got a scare when i came back at three in the morning, cause my parents told him that i wasnt coming home. my family is hilarious. i swear i can run off to like goodness know where for a fortnight and they wont know. especially now that the passport is in my hands and not my mother's. hahaha

what a loser. miche is sure she can spend her entire life waiting and hoping, but she is never going to get the answer she wants. she never realised that being friends meant not talking to each other for weeks or blatantly or not so blatantly avoiding contact. why does she even bother at all. why why why.
totally ruined whatever mood for christmas she had left. not that there was much to begin with. screw it.
miche is contemplating catching curse of the golden flower by herself. since no one else wants to watch it.

this is miche's favourite christmas carol. in fact, miche used to go christmas carolling with the school choir in primary school. you wont believe it, but miche was a singer and dancer back then. stopped singing in secondary school because miche didnt like the choir mistress. the music teacher who got her nerves the first time she met her. she's apparently a professional ballerina. but miche will always remember the day when her dress burst in front of the class. or when sophia asked her if she was jealous of kit chan (she was venting her bad mood on miche's class that day!)
anyway, come to think of it. miche did quite a bit of nonsense in primary school. was in brownies (for one year only, cause miche's mum was a guide and she insisted that miche joined the brownies, miche was a fairy! no one wanted to be gnome. hahahah), was in chinese dance, choir, instrumental ensemble, chief librarian and in the basketball school team (my first jersey number was 10, hehe)
wanted to join npcc in sec one, but for some reason didnt. wanted to join band, but didnt in the end. actually the one uniform group miche wanted to be part of was NCC. haha yeah something about military uniform attracted miche. played basketball for 4 years, debated for 2. uneventful secondary school life.
2 years in acjc, my best school years man. really. miche misses the days in acjc and the acjc that was. was hard work no doubt, but it was where miche met her best friends, lex, sam, alexis, steph, jins, joe, drian, shu, roger, elvin, cheryl. really the best 2 years of miche's life.
believe it, miche was a delinquent in her younger years. she really was.

pleasant surprises come at the most unexpected times. on the way back on 190 today, i received a call from overseas. for a moment, i told it was azka who called, but it was jajung oppa from korea. haha he said he missed us and he wanted to hear our voices.
jajung is one amazing person. he was the first korean (apart from immsoon si) who came up to introduce himself to us. he was really friendly and interesting. hehe 0ur three weeks in korea was made fabulous because of immsoon, jajung, t.k, jikhan, sora,hye ryoung, tae yoon, grace, soen mi, ji hyun, jennifer, emilie and many more. they really really great and special care of andy, liz and me. anyway, yeah jajung is really brillant. he works part time during semester to earn funds for his vacation humanitarian trips. he has travlled to vietnam, pakistan and now he is going to india for two months. he also wakes up at 5 am everyday to attend english language classes at 6 am at his uni. amazing.
immsoon is not any less lacklustre. this brillant lady speaks korean, chinese and english. impeccably i have to add. this is not mean feat, especially in Korea. given that they have a homogenous society being able to speak more than one language is already rare. but she speaks 3. in fact, she did her first degree at the Seoul National University (the top uni there, where only the top 1% of the cohort gains entry) and is doing her second degree at Seoul Education University where she's training to be a teacher.
the rest of them, heh. Ji Hyun is in UK, studying english, Jennifer studies design, Emilie speaks Japanese, French and English in addition to Korean, Soen Mi studies engineering, the rest are all undergraduates in like the top 3 universities in Korea. these are truly brillant and exceptional people. they made me feel so ashamed and small of myself.
anyway, yeah i just realised that adrian isnt in singapore as well and david is leaving for france on sat. it really seems like i dont have any friends left in singapore. those who are around, dont have time for me, or cant be bothered to spend time with me. hai so sad.
miche has no friends; preparing to go for a run in 15 mins time.

Zeus - Supreme of the Olympians. lord of the skies, the rain god
often seen with a thunderbolt, managed to live because his daddy Kronos mistake a rock for him. like coupling with mortal women against their will, usually does it in a variety of forms. recorded forms include, a swan and a cloud.
Hera - Wife of Zeus, protector of marraige
erm, she happens to be his half sister as well. kinda incestuous brotherly-sisterly love. actually Zeus raped her by transforming into a cuckoo (like what's up man) tried to overthrow him by drugging him (hey this happened in Olympos Chapter 10!) Her sacred animals are the cow and the peacock. Her favorite city is Argos.
Poseidon - brother of Zeus, lord of the sea
Carries a trident which can shake the earth and shatter any object (sounds like an earthquake), married Amphitrite, a granddaughter of the Titan Oceanus. desireed some woman called Demeter and apparently created the first horse to impress her. second only to Zeus in power amongst the gods. He has a difficult quarrelsome personality and greedy.
Hades - brother of Zeus, lord of the underworld, rules the dead. also the god of wealth.
how ironic, death and wealth. hur. a greedy god who is greatly concerned with increasing his subjects. has a helmet that makes him invisible. He rarely leaves the underworld. He is unpitying and terrible, but not capricious. abducted his wife Persephone.
Ares - son of Zeus and Hera. god of war.
disliked by both parents (wonder why?) considered murderous and bloodstained. coward who got ridiculed publicly with he was caught committing adultery with Aphrodite (his half sister! oh man what is up with these gods!)His bird is the vulture. His animal is the dog.
Athena - daughter of Zeus. the goddess of the city, handicrafts, and agriculture, a virgin goddess
sprang full grown in armor from his forehead, thus has no mother. She is fierce and brave in battle but, only fights to protect the state and home from outside enemies. invented the bridle, which permitted man to tame horses, the trumpet, the flute, the pot, the rake, the plow, the yoke, the ship, and the chariot. She is the embodiment of wisdom, reason, and purity. She was Zeus's favorite child and was allowed to use his weapons including his thunderbolt. Her favorite city is Athens. Her tree is the olive. The owl is her bird.
Apollo - son of Zeus and Leto. twin of Artemis .
he is like the god of many things man. Music (plays a golden lyre), The Archer, far shooting with a silver bow. god of healing who taught man medicine. The god of light. The god of truth, who can not speak a lie. One of Apollo's more important daily tasks is to harness his chariot with four horses an drive the Sun across the sky. He is famous for his oracle at Delphi. People traveled to it from all over the Greek world to divine the future. His tree was the laurel. The crow his bird. The dolphin his animal.
Aphrodite - the goddess of love, desire and beauty.
In addition to her natural gifts she has a magical girdle that compels anyone she wishes to desire her. There are two accounts of her birth. One says she is the daughter of Zeus and Dione. The other goes back to when Cronus castrated Uranus and tossed his severed genitals into the sea. Aphrodite then arose from the sea foam on a giant scallop and walked to shore in Cyprus. She is the wife of Hephaestus. The myrtle is her tree. The dove, the swan, and the sparrow her birds.
Hermes - son of Zeus and Maia. He is Zeus messenger. He is the fastest of the gods. He wears winged sandals, a winged hat, and carries a magic wand. He is the god of thieves and god of commerce. He is the guide for the dead to go to the underworld. He invented the lyre, the pipes, the musical scale, astronomy , weights and measures, boxing, gymnastics, and the care of olive trees.
Artemis - the daughter of Zeus and Leto. Her twin brother is Apollo . She is the lady of the wild things. She is the huntsman of the gods. She is the protector of the young. Like Apollo she hunts with silver arrows. She became associated with the moon. She is a virgin goddess, and the goddess of chastity. She also presides over childbirth, which may seem odd for a virgin, but goes back to causing Leto no pain when she was born. She became associated with Hecate. The cypress is her tree. All wild animals are scared to her, especially the deer.
Dionysus - son of Zeus and Semele. the only god with a mortal mom. the god of the vine. known to bring joy and divine ecstasy but also inspires unthinking rage.
He invented wine and spread the art of tending grapes. Dionysus is the son of Zeus and Semele. He is the only god to have a mortal parent. Zeus burned his mother to crisp when he showed her his true form. but manage to rescue Dionysus and stitched him into his thigh to hold him until he was ready to be born. His birth from Zeus alone conferred immortality upon him. was ripped to pieces by the titans because of hera but was rescued by Rhea. wandered around the world, accompanied by mad women called maenads.
Hephaestus - son of Zeus and Hera. the god of fire and the forge, the smith and armorer of the gods. He is the only god to be physically ugly. He is also lame. (why did Aphrodite marry him then????) Accounts as to how he became lame vary. Some say that Hera, upset by having an ugly child, flung him from Mount Olympus into the sea, breaking his legs. Others that he took Hera's side in an argument with Zeus and Zeus flung him off Mount Olympus. He uses a volcano as his forge. He is the patron god of both smiths and weavers. He is kind and peace loving. His wife is Aphrodite.

lex flew off at midnight. to the states. that makes like three people there for the entire month. val is going next. luke will be in malaysia. janelle working and mark doing RA stuff. so that means miche will be alone for a good part of the hols.
everyone keeps asking what plans do i have for the hols. erm the answer is seriously nothing. not that i have real people around me to do stuff with and hang out anyway. not that hanging out actually even happens anymore.
al said that she has a love-hate relationship with xmas. hahah. truth be told, miche doesnt really like xmas. all the festive atmosphere makes me feel surprisingly depressed and incredibly lonely all the time. so here is to another xmas month by myself.
xmas is a time for giving.
miche is wide awake at 3 am again. the little white things really dont seem to work.

our outing to sentosa.
the one on the right was the one who was missing in action. somehow, val's screaming about fishes in the sea doesnt seem as fun anymore. and i have no one to piggy back on.
senior "bar girls" and 2/3 of the gummy bear gang who told sam cheam and jon auyong, that there are many ways of defining a motion, and they have chosen to define it that way, so deal with it. i swear at 14, you challenge the nat team. hilarious.
well, you know who to find if miche went berserk one day.

it is finally all over. the papers. the exams. the writing. the stress of waiting for the grades to come back. it is all over. haha. kinda made meir, luke and mark watch happy feet with me on wed. cause i was so grumpy about having to take the exams WHEN EVERYONE FINISHED THEIR EXAMS THE WEEK BEFORE. yah. damn grumpy. actually. am damn grumpy now as well. cant sleep. cant sleep. cant sleep. those white little things somehow dont really work for me. i was still awake at four the other night after taking one... urgh.
eh apollo, apparently the 3D thing at Vivo screwed up and nightmare cant be shown or something. wanna check it out. before we get headaches watching dancing skeletons all around the place.
'driel and the musks, miche will try to make it to church on sunday, assuming that she isnt moping around the world again (does that quite often these days). so yes, prepare the drums for me? haha cant wait to see the attic man.
