ah-hem, let me enter debater mode:
L/G, before i begin today, please allow me to thank some of the main people in today's blog. They are:
1) All you funky, happening, rocking and FABULOUS IJ Girls!!!! IJ Power

2) Madam, Mich and Aaron, for encouraging me and helping along all the time.
3) Dunman High (Mel, Meat, Gayle, Scott, Christaine, Julie) and Renee, for being so understanding, patient and caring. Sorry that i could not spent the time that you guys deserved.
3) The Barker Prefects, Drama Boys, Teachers and all their parents who came and gave the boys the support!
and Lastly and most importantly,
4) The silly, ugly, fat, stupid, lame and corny debaters from ACS (Barker Road) hahaha......you know i love you and you guys were the stars of the night....damn, too many best speakers why did you have to do so well, now i have a tough job to keep for next year.....hahahah anyway i still love you guys.
Having dealt with that, MOH, allow me to proceed to my blog proper:
Friday was unbelievable. really unbelievable....i arrived at AC at one thirty and the boys were there. sent them for lunch and then we sat in the studio, looking through the case again and again, running through the rebuttals and going through what we need to do if situation A, B, or C arose. then came four o'clock, we trooped down to lt 4 and check to check the space and equipment. At 5, they said they wanted to have our team prayer before the rest of the people started turning up and so we had our First team prayer and they all sat there quietly waiting for 6pm to arrive. then at 5.45, they were figeting in their seats, grabbing each other, and look really worried and so they asked meekly "Mich, can we have another team prayer?" and so we prayed again, it was good and calming, but then i had to pep talk them again. oh then someone decided that they wanted a flag and they want the flag on the table and on the stage, SO I HAD TO CALL AND ASK AROUND IF THERE WERE FLAGS FOR US TO USE. then they went on. it wasnt a bad debate, but it wasnt their best debate. and we all know it. but what the heck right in retrospective.
so we finish the debate (along with some really weird stuff in between, my God, I love hon!!!!) and we had to endure the B div debate and later on, the presentations and everything else.
So came, top 20. they changed it this year, they announced top 15 of each division and then the quarter finalists and semi finalists. so when the last of the top 15 was announced, the boys were clapping like mad. they were grabbing each other and shaking their heads in disbelief.....then came, 5th.....4th......they were going to faint....i swear on my life they were.....Hon was Third, Jevan was second....
(aside: Mel was 13th and Gayle was 4th! yo go girls!!!! you guys are great as well!!!! swelll man!!!!)
then Aaron came on stage to give the debrief, it was so untelling......heh heh.....and mark gave the verdict, we went MAD!!!! really MAD!!!!!, then they turned and asked, you sure he didnt read out the wrong name?
Throughout dinner, they looked at the trophies and asked again and again, you sure we won? i think the truth did not set into us as yet at that point of time. and you know what part of me still cant believe that we have actually won.
Cos i was looking at the plaque that night and i realised that all the champions, were people who i have lost to in the semi-finals. i really have to thank the boys who in a way realised what i always wanted a championship team, cos i have never been really part of a championship team (No, as spar captain, 2001 did not really count =)). i have never been in a finals before and now i am really glad that they achieved what they wanted so much. thank you thank you.
BUT, but, it would never have been possible without all of you out there who keep telling me to hang on and have faith, who gave me all the help and support i needed throughout the season and in my exams. I love all of you!!!!!! I really do!!!
and come FRIDAY, and NEXT sunday night I shall write about how power IJ is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thus, MOH we can concluded that debate is truly a great sport and a wonderful place where you make the best friends.
Hence, i implore you L/G to go with the side that gives you the best experiences in life (damn this sounds lame)
